SAGA ANDERSON
I’m Saga Anderson, a Canadian artist on the Fusion Pro Team since 2017. I started tattooing later in my life, after a decade spent in University and the field working and training in psychology. I’m based at the edge of the Rockies in Western Canada, where I currently live and enjoy mountain life with my girlfriend and our animals. She works as my assistant and together we travel the world extensively working, judging, and competing at tattoo shows as well as teaching seminars to other artists. We love to explore all corners and cultures of the planet and only stop travelling to snowboard at home during our long snowy winters.
I feel lucky to have found my way into this amazing profession, where I’m free to explore my passion for art and colors. I have always been self-taught, tattooing included, and learning the process of creating realism came naturally after I gave it a try, a couple of years after I had been working away doing every style at a street shop. 8 years into tattooing and I’m currently fully focused on color tattoos and in exploring my own approach to creating realistic painterly compositions. With color there is no limitation to the myriad combinations possible, there is always something new to learn and all of the new improvements in tattoo technology over the last decade has allowed us to push the boundaries of what is possible.
I was super happy to join the Fusion team as I had been using their pigments for several years and was already impressed with the longevity I had seen in my tattoos. As someone who likes to explore the non-traditional color spectrum in my work I really enjoy the unique and muted colors found in the various Fusion Artist sets and regular color series. Tackling outer space, deep sea, and all the colors found in classical portraiture and landscapes requires a large, rich palette, and Fusion always has the perfect realistic tones for my work.
